About Propel

Propel Technology was founded in 2008 at the request of several manufacturers seeking a representative with a stronger direct focus on their product lines in Upstate NY. Propel Technology serves as an extension to the sales team for each manufacturer we represent. Our goal isn't to develop layers within our own organization, but rather to serve as sales executives focused on our partners' bottom lines.

About the founder

Michele Haarr has been in the electronics industry since 1996. Before founding Propel she was a sales engineer with OntecSSI, where her major lines included Fairchild, LSI Logic, PMC Sierra, Finisar, Power-One, Amphenol, Aromat, CSR, and Stretch Semi. Her territory included Rochester, Buffalo, Jamestown and Skaneateles. Prior to that she was with Pioneer Standard Electronics, first as a product manager responsible for vendor relations with ten vendors including Fairchild, Microchip, National Semiconductor, ST Micro and Zilog; then as a field sales representative covering Rochester, Buffalo and Jamestown.

She has a BA in sociology with a mathematics minor and concentrations in business and computers from Geneseo State University. She has additional studies in electrical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she was recognized with an Alumni Scholarship.
